WASCO

WASCO have been actively involved  in watershed development programmes since from 1995. Organization started its work from western part of the Rajasthan which is almost dry & desert. Rainfall in this area is irregular & erratic, so team of WASCO thought that Organization should do work mainly on rain water harvesting i.e. on watershed approach. Since from 1995 WASCO executed ten micro watershed projects under DDP & EAS in the catchment area of Apeshwar river Ramsin in Jaswantpura block of Jalore Distt with active participation of watershed committees/ watershed association & village community. The role of WASCO (PIA) was like as catalyst for strengthening of watershed committees. The district collector Jalore awarded WASCO on 26 Jan 2005 for their excellence work on watershed development.WASCO also awarded by Honrable Governor Gujrat Smt. Kamala Benewal with IV Dalmia Pani Paryavaran Puraskar for excellence work in the field of  conservation of water & Environment at Chirawa, distt. Jhunjhunu on 12 January 2011. WASCO also moved with desert development to tribal development. Organization established its two  new offices in Partapgarh & Chittourgarh district in the year 2007 and 2008 respectively. WASCO is implementing 4 Indo-German (KFW) watershed development programme  in Chittourgarh  & Partapgarh district & two WADI programme in Pratapgarh distt. of Rajasthan with close coordination of NABARD. WASCO have successfully implemented Integrated watershed development programme with the support of ITC LTD Jaipur in 22 villages of Bari sadri block of Chittourgarh district during 2008-09.
